This recipe is simple, made with probably everything you already have. Homemade brownies that are moist but not too fudgy. They hold their own when you cut the cooled bars, AND the best part is that they have a yummy, creamy cream cheese swirl.
Brownies with a Swirl
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 2 t. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup flour
Cream Cheese Swirl:
- 8 oz. cream cheese room temperature
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 t. vanilla
To make brownies:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray an 8×8 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
In the bowl of a mixer, beat together butter, sugar, cocoa powder and vanilla.
Add eggs and beat until smooth.
Gradually add flour, 1/4 cup at a time, and mix on low just until combined. Pour half of the brownie mixture into bottom of prepared baking pan.
To make Cream Cheese Swirl:
In a medium bowl, whisk all ingredients until smooth. Pour all of the mixture over brownie batter in baking pan.
Dot top with the remaining brownie batter and swirl with a knife.
Bake 35-40 minutes or until set in the middle. Let cool completely before cutting.
